Description: Not sure if most of you have encountered this. I was walking in the natural preserve in Jackson, Mississippi looking for birds, and as I came out into the open, the lone cloud in the sky caught my attention. So, I got my D1X loaded with a 80-400mm VR to shoot the cloud. For some reason the scene as I viewed it through the 400mm VR lost its glory. Instead I changed the lens to a superwide angle 17mm-35mm and VOILA !

Antelope Canyon - Arizona

Description: Antelope Canyon is situated south of Lake Powell in Arizona This picture was taken at 11:00 am in the morning. The canyon is lit by sunlight that comes in through a crevice at the top and is lit by natural sunlight between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. After this the canyon is dark. The light that seeps in brings about a mystic beauty to the canyon. This was a slide converted to a digital image, hence the low quality.

Description: This was an intriguing moment, while visiting New Orleans in 2003, I was picturing the incoming Tram before it reached its station. At the same time, I heard a loud blast from the engine on the opposite side making its way for a lengthy ride to a hanger deep in Omaha. The train was carrying the machinery which just returned from the middle east after having completed its assignment, while we have visitors climbing into the tram for a wonderful sightseeing trip of New Orleans.

Description: While strolling out in the garden, I saw this wonderful pansy, I liked the combination of yellow on purple. I got my D1X out with a konica extension tube attached to my 80-200mm AFS VR. The extension tube works extremely well with Nikon, I set at aperture priority and shot this as a close up.

Kite Flying

Description: Nice warm sunny day in New Orleans, my son was flying a kite and saw that I was taking pictures of Gulls along the beach. By the look in his face, I realized he wanted me to take a shot of the kite he made and was flying. Here's the kite my 7 year old put together and started flying. Shot with my 80-400mm AFS VR lens.
