Description: The Union Canal as it enters the Falkirk Wheel. The wheel is a rotating lift which was built to replace several locks where the Union meets the Forth & Clyde Canal. Linlithgow Palace and St Michael's Church

Description: The castle was begun to be built by James 1 in 1424 and Mary Queen of Scots was born there in 1542. The church was initialy consecrated in 1242 but was damaged by fire in 1424. Most of the present structure dates from the 1500s but extensive restoration took place in 1900s.
