POTW 12th July

Firstly apologies for the lateness of this, I remembered last Monday, but after posting a couple of pics it completely went out of my head & Ive been away after that all week. Anyway enough of my poor excuses.

Couple of pics caught my eye last week. Nigel's 1st bend I especially liked

However POTW goes to Loose Canon for 'Scrap Grabbers'. I liked the fact there was lots going on but still an orderly composition. It had a slight HDR feel to it (which I liked) but presume that was the processing rather than blended exposures. Only critique would be I think the horizon might need tweeking (or it may be my eyes?). Anyway I really liked the shot.

A worthy POTW. A scene I see quite often living near to the sea. However I do agree with Ade re. the horizon, but that really is nit picking of an excellent photo.

Pulling The image into Photoshop the distant Horizon is spot on. This part of the beach at Hastings has an extremely steep rise from the sea and then a gentle slope where the boats are beached. I think Geoff's skill has been to get a handsome image out of what can be described as a junk yard of rusty old towing winches and tractors, broken boxes of tatty netting and other boating junk strewn over several hundred metres. Nice one Geoff

A vivid and gritty image and one that really hits the spot for excitement and composition.

A very worthy choice
