New Camera - Old Effects

Hello there. Sorry if this post sounds a bit simple, I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to photography. What I'm really interested in is photographs that have the effects of an old film camera.

I have a holga and love the effects like vignetting, light leaks etc. What I really want to know is this. Is there any sort of digital camera on the market that will shoot pictures with these effects?? I suppose I want to cheat by getting the effects, without the hassle of lugging around a big old camera & having to mess around with the film & developing or having to play around for hours photoshopping.

I don't know if there's a camera out there that does this, but if there is I'd be massively grateful for your help.

Thanks,

James

Very doubtful that you will find a digital camera that does what you want.
IMO there is no market for such a device. The camera manufacturers have spent £millions on developing cameras that avoid these unwelcomed effects

However is quite easy to introduce these effects in software.

Software is your answer.

You'd get a far more authentic result with the real bad cameras (by the way, 'old' doesn't necessarily mean light leaks and vignetting - we call that 'rubbish'.)

The Lomo LC-A is the original Lomography camera, uses 35mm film. Very usable, compact, 35mm film can be bought and developed anywhere and gives brilliantly crappy results.

I'd forgot about the Lomo. Lomography has a very big following around the world

Lomography is a little silly - people paying huge amounts of money for a really bad camera and calling the resulting technically poor photographs 'artistic'. In their day they were called 'rubbish'.

My mate got given a plastic nasty lomo at Christmas this year, they're class to play with - so good in fact when he took the first roll to the lab they said the printer was obviously broken and gave him it free! If it's broken photos you want this thing does it all, and it looks like a Kinder toy!
