Default Nikon Capture NX 1.1 released

What's New ? / Content Description
  • Compatibility with Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit) version has been added.
  • An "Apply Settings" checkbox has been added to the "Batch Process" and "Watched Folder" panels in the "Settings Options" dialog displayed for batch processing
  • When the "Apply Settings" checkbox is cleared (not checked), batch processing and watched folder operations can be performed without using a settings file.
  • An "Advanced Option" with a 'show/hide' triangle has been added to the "Select File Format" portion of the "Batch Process" and "Watched Folder" panels in the "Setting Options" dialog displayed for batch processing.
  • FIle names and the date and time that files were saved is now displayed in the "Log" panel of the "Processing Queue" dialog when a batch process is processed is initiated.
  • When the "Open With..." option in the "File" menu is selected, Capture NX will create a TIFF file with the same name and saved to the same folder, as the current image.
  • The following dialogs can now be enlarged:
    • Levels and Curves dialog
    • LCH... dialog
    • Photo Info Palette
  • Anchor points positioned over curves in the following dialogs can now be moved using the arrow keys on the keyboard:
    • Levels and Curves dialog
    • LCH... dialog
  • The "Browser" view can now be changed using a shortcut.
  • An image selected in the "Browser" can now be changed using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
  • Scrolling in the "Browser" can now be performed using the HOME, PAGE UP, and PAGE DOWN keys on the keyboard.
  • The following modifications have been applied to the "IPTC Information Palette":
    • The "OK" button has been changed to "Apply".
    • The "Cancel" button has been changed to "Reset".
  • "Compass Bearing" and "Coordinated Universal Time" (UTC) is now displayed in the "Camera Settings Palette" for images captured with a GPS device mounted on the camera.
  • The area selected using the "Crop" tool can now be moved using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
  • The value for "Opacity" in the "Brush Options" dialog can now be adjusted using keyboard shortcuts.
  • The area selected using the "Lasso" tool can now be moved using the arrow keys on the keyboard.
  • A "Show Watch Points" option has been added to the "View" menu.
  • When the "Additional Information" option in the "Meta Data" dialog was selected to print with images in the "Print Layout" dialog, the shutter speed printed differed from that shown in the "Camera Settings" menu. This has been resolved.
  • An issue that prevented printing of equal vertical and horizontal margins has been resolved.
  • An issue that prevented borderless printing when selected has been resolved.
  • An issue that prevented display of "Flash Sync Mode" information in the "Camera Settings Palette" for images captured using the Nikon Close-up Speedlight Commander Kit R1C1 has been resolved.
  • When images captured in "Auto (flash off)" mode with the D40 were opened in Capture NX, "Auto" was displayed for the "Digital Vari-Program" in the "Camera Settings Palette". "Auto (flash off)" is now displayed.
  • "Gray Point" could not be displayed for images displayed at a size greater than 100% in the "Base Adjustments > Camera Adjustments > White Balance > Set Gray Point". This has been resolved.
  • When "Save As..." was selected from the "File" menu, for a NEF RAW image to which no changes had been applied, and NEF was selected for the file format, the "Base Adjustments" checkbox was checked when the image was opened again. This has been resolved.
  • An issue with 'garbled text' in the "Default RGB color space" and "Printer Profile" pulldown menus, accessed from the "Color Management" panel of the "Edit / Preferences.." option, has been resolved.
  • An issue that caused files to be created when they exceeded the cache size limit, specified in the "Cache Settings" panel of the "Edit / Preferences.." option, has been resolved.
  • If the "Edit List" is undocked and Capture NX is restarted, the "Edit List" was very small and could not be resized without selecting "Reset Palette Location" from the window menu. This issue has been resolved.
  • If the "Selection Brush" was double-clicked while the "-" brush was selected, the brush changed to "+" . This has been corrected.
  • An issue that caused an error message to be displayed when an area was selected from the "Edit" menu using the "Crop" tool along with any selected "Size / Resolution" has been resolved.
  • During intitial installation when 'file associations' are chosen, if TIFF and JPEG file types were selected to be opened with CaptureNX, an issue resulted with Windows Explorer, where the Email > Send To > Mail Recipient was no longer available after right clicking an image. This issue has been resolved.
  • A display issue would occur when dual monitors with different resolution settings were connected to a single computer. The right side of the CaptureNX window would extend beyond the right edge of the monitor when the image was maximized. This has been resolved.
  • On a Windows 2000 system, there was an issue where an ICM color profile (.icm) with a 2-byte character file name, would prevent images from opening. This has been corrected.
  • An issue occurred when CaptureNX was opened with the image window maxmized and "File / Open with../ CaptureNX" selected in PictureProject, the CaptureNX window became very small after the image finished loading. This has been resolved.
  • RAW NEF images captured in the AdobeRGB color space and saved as TIFF or JPEG files, with the "Embed ICC Profile" option disabled, were recognized as using the sRGB color space when opened in Photoshop CS2. This has been resolved.
  • An issue that prevented images from opening in CaptureNX, when their file names contained the ampersand (&) as markers from Nikon Capture 4 or PictureProject has been resolved.
  • Images cropped and saved as NEF in Nikon Capture 4 would open in CaptureNX with the "Base Adjustments > Detail Adjustments > Cropping and Resizing" option unchecked. This has been resolved.
  • If a Custom DPI setting is chosen from the pulldown menu in the "General" panel of the "Display Properties / Settings / Advanced.." window, CaptureNX would sometimes not start. This issue has been resolved.
