Yes BUT, try an independant camera repairers, many are advertised on the web, and several others have been mentioned in other topic threads elsewhere on this site.
it was a long time ago, but I once used Thomas cameras services in birmingham to service one of my contax RTS bodies. It cost alot, and the camera still looks like it's been driven over, but judging from it's reliability it must be tiptop inside.
To be completely honest, if your kit isn't covered by a warranty don't bother with ANY camera shop...go directly to a repair agent.

It's a shame that this guy is based in the USA, but I've been in correspondence with him before...If there's anything this guy doesn't know about the older Tamron lenses it's not worth knowing......but his website is certainly very interesting none the less;

Best of luck with the lens repair....even the later version is a superb optic when functioning correctly, and puts many a zoom optic to shame
