Default Good choice?

Hi, for christmas my father gave me my first camera, an Olympus FE100.I'd like to know if it's a good choice(personally i think it is) and wich camera should I choose next, in case I have the chance of buying one?

I don't know anything about that camera or how much money might be available but in general terms if you want to really get into photography then eventually get a DSLR (digital single lens reflex). You don't need an expensive one and you may be able to get a good second hand one. The thing is they let you take over control of the whole process so you can both learn and actually get the shot you want rather than what the camera would give you automatically. The quality is potentially higher and there is vast potential for expansion of the system. Don't however fall into the trap that a better camera will make you a better photographer, it's just a better tool.

The Olympus FE100 is a compact digital camera just for taking quick photos in journeys, not for more complex photos

You shouldn't underestimate the capabilities of your current camera. It will be just as capable of taking a "complex" photo as it is of taking a snapshot. As Mike has said above, a better camera will not make you a better photographer.

Learn to use all the features on your Olympus, learn to use the full range of settings it has. Look critically at your results, learn from the results what works and what doesn't. If you are new to photography, it will be a while before it's really the camera that is limiting your capabilites.

The best camera in the world won't automatically produce stunning compositions with beautiful lighting, these kinds of things are down to you, not the camera.

Hope this helps.

Aye;
A good choice is to be considered in terms of various vaiables.
For a pro choice is quite difficult.
For a photographer with extrem of age, choices are obvious; Ease of use, including puting on battery and turning on and off the camera.
For a casual shooter, any point and shoot camera is fine
and list goes on and on so if you are more specific as to what the aim is, we can tell you the good or better choice thingys.

BTW to have fun you don't have to stay single. You can marry and be very happy, when you get kicked out, and have more time to think about the single days...
