Unhappy Lightroom 5

I don't know if there are any Adobe Lightroom users here, but I just downloaded a trial version of Lightroom 5 to see if it was worth upgrading from v4 and it won't work on my Vista system.(Yes I know it's old but it does what I need!) Apparently LR v5 only works on Windows 7 and above.Another Adobe con like making Photoshop subscription only?

I use LR almost exclusively to manage, develop and print my digital images, but have stuck to LR 2.7 as my machine is still running XP (and you thought vista was out of date!)
I dont know what improvements the newer versions have, but I would recommend LR to anyone who has a high workflow.

I dont see it as an "adobe con" They can't be expected to maintain backward compatibility indefinitely - for example you wouldn't expect to run LR4 or PS6 on windows 3.1 would you? Also some features of new versions of software require OS infrastructure that older OS do not provide & surely progress should not be held up because some people choose not to upgrade? JMHO

Default Lightroom 5

I take your point but there are lots of people who even still run Windows XP as an operating system. I suppose I'll have to put it on the other half's Windows 7 computer! I must be one of the few people who haven't had any problems with Vista-possibly because I haven't bu**ered about with it and I've been very selective about which updates to install.
