Default Trouble opening pages.

Help. I am having a few problem with opening webpages, nearly all the sites I try to get on. It is taking ages to finish opening a page. Some sites I can't get on at all, it just won't load, it doesn't come up with any errors or time outs. If I press stop and then refresh most times it quickly downloads. This all started last week and I can't think for the life of me what I may have downloaded that is causing the problem.Has anyone any suggestions. Could it be something to do with Java.

Hi Christine

If I were you I would run a deep full system antivirus and spyware scan on all your drives, make sure you have the latest definitions first though! It sounds to me like you have picked up something that's trying to access your system as soon as you try to log on, could be a trojan or spyware. Make sure you don't enter any passwords or personal information until you have got it sorted.

Before you do this press control - alt - delete to bring up Windows Task Manager and see if anythings hogging your system memory or cpu that shouldn't be!

Thanks Nirofo, I may have it all sorted now with the help of a very special person. It lookes like it could have been the setting on my d-link, I have had no problems with my ordinary adls modem. I will be trying the d-link tomorrow to see whether its functioning properly.
