Default A nice balanced article on Windows 10 installation.

I'm attaching a link to an excellent article on Forbes that breaks down the pros and cons. The bottom line is interesting; the free installation remains valid until 29th July 2016. So, you may wish to defer installation for several months, as there are problems at the moment. Notably, if your system uses Nvidia graphics driver there is a real deal breaking conflict. PS I did note that Harry had no problems with the Nvideo, but the above article highlights it, so it must still be bothering some.

Graham. I think Nvidia problem has been resolved. This was done almost as soon as the problem occured. I've certainly had no further problems since I updated drivers from Nvidia.

Glad that seems sorted. I shall be installing W10 myself and I'm delighted that the glitches are being dealt with so quickly.

Angry Graphics

Still running W.7 Home Premium but have W.10 waiting to install.
Let the thing breeze thro' auto updates yesterday (as I have done for about four years). Restarted the machine and blow me no graphics just the big ugly stuff you see in safe mode.
When I looked the Windows update included a variety of items for Nvidia which reminded me of the problems previously described here.
Not a big job to restore the system to pre-update. But I thought I'd share this.

W10 is running very well now including the major update yesterday evening over two hours to complete. As I mentioned previously the Nvidia problem did not occur. The update was for 'Insiders' so for the time being this update will not be available to the general public.
I have just the one problem now and so far have not found the remedy. This problem involves Lightroom. Firing up Lightroom gives me the message "Error unable to find Catalogue' with three options that have no effect. However right clicking Lightroom and running as Administrator works OK. Just a little annoying as this method requires three mouse clicks instead of one Unless something catastrophic happens I will not go back to W7.
