POTW 6 January 2013
A difficult call this week with three very different images making my final three but my choice this week is: -
London Night by Nigel Blake I chose this for a number of reasons. It is an imaginative image and clearly some thought has gone into the taking and it challenges the viewer. I like the composition with the streaks of light from the bus taking the eye past the building in the background on the left to the more brightly lit building on the right. Also it is technically well executed with the exposure just right in difficult lighting conditions - great job Nigel The other two images that made my short list were Dovecote Tower by dSP which look like a subtly executed HDR, and the pin sharp Grey Wagtail by Keith |

Very nice indeed! The lights from the bus really add a different dimension.

I know we must expect stunning shots from Nigel, but this is superb and quite out of the ordinary.

Beautifully executed image. I like the ghosting effect caused by the long exposure - moving traffic and people only partially present in the frame. It gives a feeling of the crowds 'just passing through' which contrasts with the solidity of the architecture.
