Default RAW images---help please!

Tried shooting in RAW for the first time with my Canon 20D, set the menu to RAW and took some shots.
I use Lexar pro x40 cards and download onto my PC using the Lexar Jumpshot card reader. I have no problem when I download non-RAW images they transfer straight to my Canon software, but when I try to download RAW images all I get is the Lexar image rescue page.
Am I doing something wrong or do I need to down load direct from the camera, the Canon software shows RAW processing but I am not able to process.
Advice please

Try and download directly from the camera, I realise you dont want to do this but can you transfer files in the short term?

Can you drag and drop using windows from the jumpshot reader rather than using the canon software.

Try a couple of different methods and it might pinpoint the source of the issue.

I had a similar problem with Lexar cards and my 20D. Then I noticed that there was no USB symbol on one of the cards (the ones with the USB symbol downloaded fine with the Lexar cardreader). I bought a different card reader (a Hama) and there was no problem reading the cards. I have since purchased a Sandisk card reader, which also works. Looks like the problem is in the Lexar card reader.

cheers,
jim

I have also seen and had problems with the Lexar readers. Sandisk has never let me down on any card.

I used the Lexar jumpshots for many years but started having problems last year with files from the d2x... got a Lexar multi-reader and no problems. I think there may be compatability problems with various jumpshots.

I use a tevion multi card reader - aldi £6.99 - it works great on all the various cards I use.
I did switch from proprietory software to using Rawshooter essentials - a free package, and I found this more forgiving - particularly when I was using the Fuji s7000, which occasionally came up with read errors when using windows explorer.
