No, it's metal with some wood but the wood is not in the crop of the photo. Need to know what the object is.

I thought of an Oak Fruit, viewed from top.
But then I know no natural Oak that is made up of iron.
How about an "antique Wheel"?

No. It has wheels and some wood to help move the item. Not what the item is.

Clue... Its too big and heavy for one person to move. Unless you were very strong and even if you were you could not move it far.

I think it's whatever you call the loading door of a medieval cannon.

Well done Peter. Its an old cannon so you win. However it loaded from the other end.
