Default Canon Outlet has ended abruptly

I was just checking the "sold/ended" prices of Canon camera prices last week (on a well-known on-line auction site). and was surprised at the high number of cameras sold at very low prices, with one left un-sold, over a short period.
Now there is nothing for sale from Canon Outlet, after all other items had been sold.
On another forum (as one example), there is talk of a conspiracy among the variety of comments:-

but no official reason so far.

If legit, I must say I missed some deals.

I have just had a look on eBay (as I do every time I use the internet), and Canon Outlet has restarted. Who knows for how long, or why they stopped in the first place?
Digital Depot have been selling refurbished cameras from various makers for some time now, along with some other retailers.
