POTW 26 Feb 2016
Great variety of images this week to choose from- wildlife, subtracts, landscapes & more. Making it onto my shortlist this week were Southern White Admiral by Adey Baker, Pelican & Landscape both by Krish2187 but my winner this week is
Surfin USA by Sassan - great action shot with the surf trail leading the eye in & the surfer just looking to the negative space on the right. Particular well done in view of the fact its taken with a manual focus lens!

Thanks my friends and appreciate this.
Clive: You described it very well. Manual focus and sport action are not a friendly combination and though I must admit that by no means I am faster than AF or possibly as accurate, I am surely more comfortable to go manual due to the fact that I know my own limitations but hard to deal with logic of camera and lens even in servo AI. In doing so, the only trick is to have a zone of focus set first (Utilizing the Live View and 10x magnification for precise focusing- My Sony camera has let me to custom design one bottom, near shutter release, for this exact purpose) and then wait for the action to get there. I add a tiny move of lens toward infinity, if subject going away or vice versa, also as the movement is happening. That is all to it, as far as my secret goes. Thanks again.

The more I look at this shot the more I'm drawn to the surfer's right hand almost touching its reflection in the water. The tension of the anticipation of whether it does just make contactor not is better than if it actually had done, if you see what I mean!
