Default date/time stamp 20D/300D

Hi All sorry if this is a dumb question but, is it possible to set either the 20D or 300D up to put the date and time on the image. As you can do with some compacts.

If so how, Iv'e gone through the manual but I'm beggared if I can see how.

Thanks

Pete

Pete,

This information is embedded within the digital data file on all pictures. Assuming you are using Windows XP, if you right-click on the file whilst it is on your computer, and select "properties", you can read the file date/time from the "summary" tab presented. This is known as the EXIF (EXtra InFormation) data.

How you get that information displayed on any prints you have done? Can't say that you can do it, but I'm no Canon expert. You could examine the EXIF, and write the date/time on the back directly.

Thanks Duncan, I understand the Exif data and how to read it. I don't think it is possible to get it to print on the image, but wondered if I was missing something and maybe it is poss.
