Default Nikon D2x, model upgrade announced next weel

I think it's safe to assume there will be an announcement next week about the release of an upgraded D2x. Speculation is soaring about what the upgrade will consist of... but you can bet it won't be as dramatic as many are saying.
Same resolution is pretty much certain, just some added tweaks developed over the last 12 months.

I have just read some very silly speculation but one thing is agreed, news on 29th May (Monday).

I'm not sure there's a large quantity of unsold current D2x cameras around... but I'm sure they wil be discounted. If you see a discounted one, then you'd probably need to act quickly.

I suspect most of 'us' current D2x users are wondering if there will be another firmware update to give some of these new 'benefits'... Having seen many firmware updates over the years, you tend to get a tiny fraction of what you hope for (typically some obscure white balance improvement )

I have been keeping an eye for the US rebate scheme migrating across the pond for some time. NO SUCH LUCK. I guess thats the price we pay for living here.

Daily checks on dealers from Tuesday.

Does sound as if it's all going to be very minor stuff...'improved workflow features' doesn't exactly get the pulse racing at this end
