Used a long exposure of about 3 seconds if I remember correctly, though due to a total lack of tripod (and a pretty basic camera!) the image is quite blurry, but I still think it came out quite well considering! I always struggle to get photos of people climbing - if you take them from below, all you get is a great pic of their bum. If you take them from the top you get a better sense of height and a face, but taken from the side, unless the light is just right, I often get a very dark image because of the contrasted light behind them, or a complete silhouette like this, which I actually quite like, especially with the slight detail of the quickdraws and harness. What do others think?

3 comments Ollie Sun, 30 Jul 2006 00:08:13 +0100 Reflections of a Climber /gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8270

by: Ollie

Description: My first photo on here! Wooh. The reflection in my glasses of a friend of mine climbing in Torbole, Italy. It only took about 3 attempts to get the climber 'in the right place' and despite many repeats I couldn't beat this shot! It's been cropped a bit, roughly straightened and a smear on the glasses cleaned up, but other than that it's from the camera. Be nice with the critique - suggestions welcome but bear in mind that it's merely me playing on holiday with a cheap kodak digicam!

2 comments Ollie Sun, 30 Jul 2006 00:02:39 +0100 Landscape /gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1

by: Ollie

1 comment Ollie Sun, 11 Dec 2005 14:32:15 +0000
