Description: This beetle landed on the picnic table when we were having lunch. It posed for a few photos then flew of. Checked out specious from a web site, this was the nearest specious name I could find.

Female Kestrel.

Description: This Kestrel allowed me to get close. So after taking some photos I got nearer, and put a jacket over it, then took it to a Wildlife centre where it was looked after for a few days, but after being examined it was found that it was blind and unfortunately had to be put down. It lives on in this photo.

Description: Main Tower of the castle was I believe partly pulled down by the Scots to stop an English army using it as a base. The castle changed hands a few times during the wars between England and Scotland.
