Maybug (Cockchafer)

Description: A Maybug (Cockchafer) that had settled briefly on an item which had been drying on the clothes line. This is the one and only time I've actually seen one properly. Lucky I had a camera + suitable lens handy at the time. They're HUGE insets!!

Description: Shot from quite close when I was trying out an Ergorest + Manfrotto 222 grip action head clamped to the door/window of a vehicle. Sigma 170-500mm lens at 170mm, ISO 200, f/6.3, 1/2000.

Peasmarsh Church

Description: Peasmarsh's ancient Norman Church of Peter and St Paul is along a narrow lane about a mile from the village. In the 14th Century, a previous population was struck down with Bubonic Plague and the survivors moved to build a new settlement where the village stands today.
