Description: I rousted this Great Blue from his fishing and he chose this perch up with the songbirds , where he looks terribly out of place and uncomfortable. I would much rather have caught him in his fishing, but oh well...

Mountain Tank & Ladder

Description: I was fascinated by the ladder against this old mountain water tank. The tank , 12-14 feet tall, looks to date back to the at least the early 1900's. A spring runs just to the right and it feeds the tank through some sort of gravity feed. It as rather amazing that the tank has remained standing, as there is a major fault line roughly 1 mile away over the mountain. This fault has produced several major earthquakes in the last 30 years.

Description: I would perhaps like the shadows just a bit lighter here. Lightening them however, necessitates taking the water up a notch or two as well, which puts the water brighter than the sky due to use of graduated filter. Any suggestions?

Night Fog

Description: A thin wash of fog envelopes the valley, allowing the underlying lights to illuminate the top layer. I have seen this effect from airplanes, but have rarely seen it occur ( twice in 7 years ) over the valley where I live. Composition is not great here, and I will appreciate any suggestions. Equipment was EOS 20D with EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6mmL @ iso 100 , exposure ~13 secs. Thanks for viewing! Best wishes, Lamar.
