Description: An outing last night with the club in the Eskdale area. Several of us gave this section of the river the 'long exposure' treatment. Just other side of the bridge a small group were jumping of the bridge into the water ...summer is such fun!

Low Gardens Bridge

Description: No prizes for composition or artistic merit, this image is a panorama 'documentary' shot taken at close range from a modern foot bridge that parallels this 18th century stone one. Walkers can cross on the old bridge but it is now gated to traffic. Lying on the boundaries of Lowther, Yanwath and Eamont Bridge it is a listed structure under the 1990 Act and having been spruced up in the 19th century is in very smart condition.

Description: Rape crops in the rural centre of England. Some may know it as Canola. The rapeseed cop was historically just fulfilling a useful role as a "break crop" in farm rotation - suppressing weeds and improving soil quality - for cereal crops such as wheat and barley. But now perhaps due to failed crops in other European countries, it has in recent years become hugely profitable.

Description: Set on the slopes of the Eskdale Fells, the Boot Inn serves a fine cup of coffee! This view was taken from Dalegarth station, the terminus of La'al Ratty. It is in fact a crop from a 19 image panorama using a 105mm lens. ...just for fun!!

Description: Taken today at Kirkby Stephen. The iconic Carlisle to Settle line, which utilises the Ribblehead Viaduct, reopened today after repairs costing �23M. The line suffered devastating damage in last year's floods. The first passenger service was today opened by the Flying Scotsman running between Carlisle and Oxenhope.

Description: Kinniside is a small stone circle on the road that runs between Calder Bridge and Ennerdale Bridge. It is not an original prehistoric site but a modern creation of 11 stones around a circle with an 18 metre diameter. The tallest stone measures 1� metres high. The stones are set in concrete.

Description: A bit misleading because the area all around is tropically beautiful, but this area has been roughly cleared leaving sinister looking stumps. The downpour over the Cameron Highlands in the background only adds to the sombre appearance

Description: A week-end off from boat work and with friends I visited the Cameron Highlands of Pahang, Malaysia. We stayed in the hill town of Brinchang, but this plantation is owned by BOH, a major producer of the finished product in Malaysia.

Leaning Tower

Description: The leaning tower of Teluk Intan, Malaysia's answer to Italy's Pisa. This particular shot is not from the angle that shows it as its most obvious, but it does have quite a tilt towards the southwest. Built in 1887 as a water tower for fire emergencies during the dry season and also at 25 metres tall it was also a navigational aid for vessels travelling up the Perak River to the city. It is also called the clock tower as it has a beautiful mechanical clock which was made in Britain.
