Description: Africa or Australia? These are in fact four zebra statues that have mysteriously appeared in the refilling Lake George, alongside the Federal Hwy about fifty kilometres north of Canberra.

Description: Bryce Canyon N P in Utah is home to one of the immense and impressive landforms to be found anywhere. Formed by the weathering of sandstones, the remaining hoodoo shapes are painted by the movement of the sun across the scene tween dawn and dusk.

Description: just as I set up to photograph the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a mighty blast from a foghorn alerted me of this magic moment. The cruise liner Pacific Jewel then glided through the night underneath the deck of this well known bridge.

Fire and Water

Description: This years theme of the Fire and Water show, part of a new Sydney winter celebration, showcases the beginning of commerce on Sydney Harbour. The tallship arrived at Campbells Cove complete with pipes and drums, and spectacular lighting effects. Combined with the colouring of the sails on Sydney Opera House, it truly is an awesome and surreal experience.

Description: Usually just a steady trickle, heavy coastal rains really had this cascade working well earlier this week. It is unique in so far as it can only be seen from trains climbing or descending the Illawarra escarpment above Unanderra. There is no road access.

Description: The blue of the lake contrasts nicely with the reds and whites of the canyon walls. Lake Powell was formed by the Colorado River being constrained by the Glen Canyon Dam at Page.

Upper Antelope Canyon 1

Description: In the company of a Navajo guide, this canyon is accessed by a three mile drive along a dry riverbed. The floor of the canyon varies in width from 3 to 15 feet, with a height of up to 130 feet. The varying colours are brought about by the way the sunlight bounces off the different shapes of the eroded walls above the visitor.

Description: Chief Tsosie, a Navajo Indian, served as my guide when I visited Antelope Canyon near Page. He was a wealth of information, on both the canyon and his people, and he played two tribal songs on his flute during the tour. It was mesmerising and a truly spiritual moment of my visit to USA.
