30 pounds each for A3 t(Free P&P!) to raise money for a replacement PC (and monitor, scanner... all blew up the same week!) and until they are replaced I can't get back shooting current projects.
The real killer is having to get a new OS, monitor and scanner too... the scanner will have to wait!... as will any chance of a camera this year and I'll be really glad to see the back of the old clunker of a PC my Dad kindly loaned me to get on-line and post. Cheers Pop!
For the last 18 months together with with people on or far beyond the outskirts of my local Market Towns community I have been recording through collaborative environmental portraiture, audio and video interviews coupled with straight documentary shoots their life stories and memories, musings, hopes and struggles.
I do this with a passion and belief that the photographs we can make have a weight and longevity beyond our time here, have an ability to communicate a story long after the characters have departed, they are time capsules awaiting discovery.
These are moments of daily endurance that in a generation will have passed forever.
I work as a full time Carer in my families home and at the end of the week there is no budget for any photographic work. Most all of my equipment is borrowed and all of my shoots are completed in free time away from my duties at home.
Portraits from the Market Town series are multi award winning and have been published in print & book format worldwide. Market Town has no end date, it's a project I will work on forever, constantly updating how I present the stories via essays, interviews, articles, stories, portraits, mixed media exhibitions and a series of books.
Any donations upon the website are used to fund shoots, transport, exhibtions, equipment and continue to complete more projects with more truly amazing people and causes.

I met with Jimmy today. After the accident things have been increasingly hard for him.
Before the hit and run he had been amazingly active, cycling into town every day with Rosie a permenant fixture in the front basket.
Now arthritis is slowly taking him prisoner. His hands, legs and shoulders are permenently in pain and it's taking longer to do everything, opening jars, bottles and the walk to the local shop that would take 5 minutes, now takes 40.
The local Doctors where Jimmy would visit to get his dressings changed did however bring some good news.
A family asked Jimmy to care for two young Jack Russell's and Jimmy obliged.
The situation became long term as the family never returned for the dogs so they now have joined Rosie as loving, doting members of Jimmy's family.

If not for you
Babe, I couldn't even find the door
I couldn't even see the floor
I'd be sad and blue, if not for you
If not for you
Babe, the night would see me wide awake
The day would surely have to break
It would not be new, if not for you
If not for you, my sky would fall
Rain would gather, too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost, if not for you
If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
Couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you
If not for you, my sky would fall
Rain would gather, too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost, if not for you
If not for you

Wildlife is by no means my forte but if I win this category I could get a D700 and shoot in really low light! (And take Laura out for a lovely meal and a new harness for Suradog!)
Fingers and toes crossed that the other two Hi Res images (Portraits and Documentary) get short listed too : )
Please take a look at the link, there are some really great entries : )

The richest two percent own more than half the household wealth in the world.
The richest ten percent hold 85 percent of total global assets. And the bottom half of humanity owns less than one percent of the wealth in the world.
The three richest men in the world have more money than the poorest forty-eight countries.<br /><br />6 commentsJ A MortramTue, 05 Oct 2010 20:54:54 +0100Roma

Crossed the Sahara by foot to find work in Rome.
UNODC/UNICRI Report :
"Travel by road often involves traveling many days in the Sahara Desert in tightly packed jeeps with up to twenty or more victims (male and female) to safe houses along the way.
The journey could also be undertaken on foot in a long tortuous trek under the scorching sun broken spatially with the help of camel runners at a highly exorbitant fee.
The journey often lasts anything from 2 months to 1 year as traffickers had to stop along the way to prepare fake travel documents or determine safe periods to continue the journey.
The victims then crossed from Morocco or Algeria by sea in small boats carrying up to carrying up to 20 or more persons. Crossings are done at night to avoid Spanish maritime patrol boats.
At Spain an agent would meet and take them to Italy by air or train."<br /><br />2 commentsJ A MortramTue, 05 Oct 2010 20:49:56 +0100Roma
