Description: Mt Stuart in the North Cascade range in Washington state. This is looking at the southeast face from just west of Ellensburg, Washington. It was taken in 2010 but I reworked it in 2014 using the newest Photoshop programs and techniques.

A Crop from a Palouse Panorama

Description: This photo is for panorama lovers. It is a 14" crop from a panorama that is 6" high and 16 feet long at 96 ppi. I have the entire photo on pbase at the link below. If you go there click on the original option for size below the picture and you will be able to scroll from side to side. The pano was created in Photoshop with photomerge and is a merge of 20 photos taken in September of 2009. Plowed Ground in the Palouse

Description: This is the latest in what has become a series of photos taken from Steptoe Butte in Washington State, USA. I have been using telephoto lenses and really like the results I have had. This shot is with a new 7D and a 100-400mm lens at 180mm focal length. This is on the last day of November and the plowed ground is wet from a fairly wet fall and will soon be covered with snow until spring. A snow covered scene will be my next challenge in that area. http://pbase.com/jvhigbee

Farms in the Palouse

Description: The rolling hills of the Palouse country in Washington State, USA is farmed primarily for wheat. Usially the individual farms are large and the buildings of one far from another. Why this group is so close together I can't say, but it makes for a very interesting picture.
