Petrified oaks at Mundon Essex

Description: These oaks were originally destined for use as masts for the ships in the fleet to fight the Spanish Armada but were rejected as they were too twisted. They still stand in a field in Mundon, Essex. See: http://www.springstep-dairy.co.uk/farm.htm for more details

Description: Spectacular views - must be even better in winter. 48 kilometers of panoramic road with 36 hairpin bends, ascending to 2,504 meters, crosses a unique alpine landscape brimming with flowering grasslands, fragrant forests, mighty rock and eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner. Fantastic biking road
