Description: When Walt Disney started building Disney World in Orlando, he had the foresight to incorporate the land as the ruddy Creek Development Zone. These two photos are of a series of florida unusual scees just as the trailers in the ground. This sa unique fountain in front of the Fire dept. They are taken from 2 locations, one taken by my wife as we drove past at 35 mph.

Description: Disney World hosts an Annual Star Wars event for 4 weekends at Hollywood Studios. The Motorcade hosts 4 or 5 stars of the movies in a parade setting highlighting the movies. Gypsy Vanner Horse

Description: This is a new breed of horse developed in part by American Gypsies, mostly of Scotch/Irish lineage. This breed has been perfected by an American who owns 2 of the farms at which these horse are bred. They are large horses with the long hair and the original horses were used to pull the Gypsy Caravan Wagons. Very gentle, very beautiful horses- and very rare.

Unusual Florida 1

Description: I have been working on a portfolio of some oddities you might pass as you travel through Florida. I am posting 2 photos here of Airstream Trailers in an unusual position. These were the travel trailers of another era, alhough still being sold and used today. The first is a frontal view as you drive East on I-4 which traverses Central Florida. It was taken from a moving car. The second is a rear view looking out towards the Interstate.

Description: Universal Studios, Orlando, FL sets aside Mardi Gras season to celebrate with music, food, and a Parade. The floats are colorful and each year a couple of new floats are introduced. They are reportedly designed by the same artists who design floats for the New Orleans Parade.

Description: Universal Studios in Orlando celebrates Mardi Gras throughout April for a number of successive Saturdays. There are concerts, New Orleans food satalls, exotic stilt walkers and, of course, a parade on Saturday nights. Each year there are a number of new floats joining some from previous years. This year, the new floats celebrated world heritage- Indis, China, New Orleans and Jazz. Riders on the floats throw out beads to the crowd. It is festive and sometimes a little wild. The floats are designed by the same company that creates the New Orleans Parade floats.

Description: I attended a traveling Expo with Dinosaurs, over 60, many animatronic. Interesting and fun. I was feeling bad about a dentist visit today, but I am happy I don't have this mouth:)

The Final Voyage

Description: On Nov 2, we were privilged to attend the final voyage of the Shuttle Orbiter Atlantis. The ship made a stop at Exploration Park where we had several hours to photograph her. Then Atlantis traveled by road to the Visitor Center where she was placed in the new Museum being built around her. Light poles and traffic signals were removed to facilitate the journey. I will be placing many photos on my website sometime this week. It was a bittersweet day, watching this magnificent and historic vessel making its last trip.

Winter the Wonder Porpoise

Description: Winter is a 6 yr old Porpoise who was caught in a crab trap. Following her rescue by the Clearwater, FL Aquarium, her tail fell off on its own. She was fitted with a prosthetic tail and lives happily at the Aquarium receiving therapy and enjoying her visitors. I thought I had my camera with me, but alas, in a senior moment I had only a lens. These 2 photos were taken with my cell phone. Next time I will have my camera.
