Old Wardour Castle

Description: This is a picture of Old Wardour Castle in Wiltshire. I often visit National Trust Properties and this one was one i had missed time and time again. Well a few weeks ago i finally got to go and visit this wonderful place and boy was i pleased. I later found out that it was in fact used in Robin Hood: Prince of Theives! Anyway i took many a photo and took a liking to this one on the day as the sun was just in the right place and gave me some lovely sunny bokkeh.

The Real Paris

Description: In a recent visit to Paris i was reminded what its really like, beautiful above the eye line but below is really quite dirty. This piece of grafitti just 50 yards from Les Basilique du Sacre-Coeur which is without doubt one of the loveliest places to visit in Paris and has the best viewpoint bar none. Ifound it quite apt so here is my take on Paris.

Balcombe Wood

Description: This isnt a set the world on fire picture, i just like it. Its a woodland near me thats been left well alone and as a result has a great deal of wildlife. This for me just sums it up. Its a peaceful, tranquil place that has a real woodland warmth to it. Every time i am there the sun cuts through the trees lighting up the walkway. If you listen closely you can hear the birds.........

Willow the Cat

Description: This is a very simple picture of my cat Willow. This was one of the first pictures i took having started my course. This was to learn aperture and i was keen to start off with a portrait hence Willow as my subject. I wanted to get nice and close and capture her nature and texture. She spends most of the day in a coma so i think its worked!

Ouse Valley Viaduct

Description: Last week we were practising aperture and i wanted to get an unusual picture with what i had learned. We have a stunning 1800s viaduct very close to where i live and it was too good an opportunity to miss so here is my reward. I was super pleased as i had waited and waited for a little light to pop though and give each leg a little definition and here is the result......

The Light Angel of Horsham

Description: This was our second experiemnt of the night. We were to set a medium length shutter speed of around 8 seconds again at a low iso of around 200 and the aim was to capture some sort of light trail using only a torch.

Description: Again a follow on from my previous shot. In my eyes this is a classic light trail. I am quite pleased with it for a first attempt.

Description: This was a picture taken on my course last night. We were experimenting with shutter speeds and light trails were the best way to learn this so here is one of several photos i took. I was a little bored trying the same thing as everyone else so i thought i would think outside the box and bring street feel into the photo. What street doesnt have a phonebox on?
