Water

Description: This is the very end (known as "end of drive") of a drainage tunnel in north wale, this is to the south, the north end opens into the sea. The trip to get here is a roughly a 150m decent through an abandand lead mine using fixed ladders, then a walk down a passage squeezing through a clapse into the tunnel, the journey south is then a simple 2ish mile walk, the water level varies in the tunnel from ankle deep to waste deep and it flows at around 23 million gallons per day, so if you fall in the deep bit at the side of the tunnel, theres a good chance you'll get washed a fair way down the 10 mile long tunnel. As you get closer to the end of the tunnel the oxygen level drops quite a lot, down to around 13% in places, while this isnt a huge problem, it most certainly makes you a little paranoid. we ended up with 6 people heading south, but even with so few people, there was a lot of steam comming off people, making getting a decent picture a bit hit or miss.

Dovecote tower

Description: The Dovecote Tower, commonly known as the Pigeon Tower, stands at the northwestern edge of the Terraced Gardens. Italian in style, the Tower was built in 1910 by Lord Leverhulme as part of his extensive Rivington estate. The first two floors were home to ornamental doves and pigeons, whilst at the top was a small sitting room that was used as a lookout over the boating lake, and by Lady Lever as a sewing and music room.
