Blood Moon eclipse

Description: All I knew was that there was going to be a blood moon on 07/09/25. Only found out that it was going to be an eclipse as well about 10 mins before it appeared, and that I should have been in the south east of the UK for the best view. My time machine was in for service!

Heron in flight

Description: I've only been to this location about four times and have never seen Herons or Egrets there before. Only took my Fuji XT3+70-300 and 16-80 lenses, not expecting these. Went back the following day with XT5 and 100-400 lens and there was nothing.

Description: I discovered today my ice plants were a great attraction to the butterflies again, this year. Update: my friend has to have another operation this Wednesday. He has been keeping me very busy and I've missed all the lovely weather for taking photographs!! Such is life.

Description: Shouting and wing spreading at another bird. I thought I'd taken my XT5/100-400 combo but when I got there I realised I'd swapped bags about the night before. Bags now clealy identified with different coloured tags. All I need to do now is remember which coloured tag relates to which camera.

Description: An Egyption Goose chick, the last and only survivor of the brood. Thanks for the query about the eyes Dave. Still waiting for the appointment for the 2nd eye which has what they call "a guarded visual prognosis". ie they don't know how good the result will be due to optical nerve damage from other problems with that eye.

Description: Bit of a messy background but hey ho. One eye, two surgical procedures done giving me clear distance vision. Seeing the surgeon Tuesday foe the week later checkup then wait for the appointment for the second eye. In the meantime because of the discrepancies in the eyes I struggle with double vision and slight nausea, especially with movement.

Description: Similar to another shot I put up but I was very happy to get this shot. As an aside I am going into hospital on Monday 28th for the first of my eye operations, four procedures in total, two on each eye. This means I will not be able to get out and about with my camera for about three months. Hopefully I will be able to post a few pictures from the archives in the meantime.

Description: I must admit I did not know that young coots looked like this, in my opinion much better looking than adults. The adult was in the nest and when it got off this youngster was full revealed.

Chasing round the stump!

Description: A female Mallard was not impressed by her suitor and was trying to escape his attentions by flying off at high speed and dodging round the stump in an effort to lose him. All to no avail I fear although I never did see the final outcome.
