Londonderry

Description: This is the war memorial in the Centre of Londonderry. I went on the 11th to remember my Grandfather who served in the 1st World War. He was in a band and all the band 'to a man' joined up to go to war. He was shell shocked and gas poisoned, returned to the City and a tradesman recognised him and contacted his family. He died shortly after returning home. His name is on the memorial here. This memorial is in the centre of the city and has been in the middle of our troubles. This is just a phone shot.

Description: Mold Bailey Hill display at the visitor centre. There used to be a wooden fort ("Bailey") and a moat ("Motte") on this site-see:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mold_Castle for more info. I thought I'd go and take some photos, which I've sent to Mold Town Council.

Description: Had a trip to Chester Cathedral (https://chestercathedral.com/) to do the "Tower Tour" which involves climbing (and descending) 216 spiral staircase steps of variable height. Some of the parts were tight width and height wise but it was really interesting and I enjoyed it.

Description: One of the wells/springs around which the Cathedral was built. Still produces hundreds of gallons a day! I reckon this is an almost shot as the light did not really bring the reflection out and the water is cluttered. It was still nice to sit and drink in the peaceful atmosphere and, well, reflect.

Noctilucent Clouds

Description: I happened to notice a great display of Noctilucent Clouds, at the end of June, so grabbed camera in the hope I could capture them! Hand-held shot as I couldn't stay out for long or carry the tripod. At the end of May I had an emergency operation to have my gallbladder removed, it was a difficult operation which lasted approx 4 hrs. Thankfully, all seems to be good but I'm not very strong yet and unable to lift anything. It will take me time to see all the photographs on here but looking forward to it. Will be a while before I can go out with the camera again. Hope everyone is well.

Description: The famous "scissor" buttresses which had to be added when the hightening of the central tower added too much weight. Always amazes me what they could do 850 years ago! Handheld shot.
