Description: The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight from RAF Coningsby came to the Airbus factory at Hawarden on 30-31/05/2025 to commemeorate the 80th Anniversary of Lancaster Bomber Production at the site during WW2. PA474 is one of two remaining Lancasters flying in the world (the other one is in Canada) and my mother worked on Wellingtons initially and then Lancasters at the factory during the war so I had to go and get hopefully a decent shot of these aircraft.

Description: Vessel is moving off. This was taken with a Panasonic FZ82D belonging to my friend, he just got it yesterday and I was trying it out. A fun camera with a great zoom.

Description: This vessel has been moored off our Coast for a couple of days, after exercises in Scotland. They moved off as soon as I arrived. HMS Dragon was apparently used in a Bond movie. By mistake I posted it on social media, as HMS Spider, and doing that stirred up everyone, to let me know I'd made a mistake!!!

Description: This was taken with a very old Nikon P4400 camera, which I used to use all the time back about 1999, I came across it and put batteries in it and it's still working. I read somewhere there is a cult following of this camera, not sure if that is correct.

85th Anniversary

Description: Instead of going to Airshow we went to a Fair in a small village. Weather was so hot! These photographs were taken with the R6 which I love but I'm still a bit afraid of it!! I think this was the Anniversary of this tractor. Apologies to everyone, I'm breaking all the rules by posting so much tonight. I'm making up for a long absence.

Ground Display at the Airshow

Description: I'm not sure what type of aeroplane this is - it was a ground display. I didn't go to the Airshow itself as our Council had moved the location and planes were farther out to sea. I think this was after a bad crash in England.

Airbus A350-1000 XWB

Description: The Airbus factory held a Family and Friends day at the Broughton factory on 7th Sept so I stood at the end of the runway to photograph the aircraft that were flying. The wings (strangely very thin looking) for this aircraft are made at Broughton and then shipped out to Toulouse in one of the Beluga XL transport aircraft. As this was a demo flight, the pilot flew it like it was a small plane, doing some amazing turns with it.Pity about the bland sky.

Tonbridge Model Railway

Description: Recently I joined the Tonbridge Model Engineering Society which provided rides for Children of ALL ages during the British Summer time at weekends and an extra day during school holidays. The Society is funded by donations for the rides and on this occasion all donations were given to the League of Friends of the local hospital.

Description: Lucky to catch this 125 year old steam locomotive arrive and depart from the Spa Valley railway station in Tunbridge Wells. This locomotive is the sole surviving example of a pure McIntosh engine in Britain.

Search and Rescue

Description: While in Portballintrae the Search and Rescue helicopter passed, on route to Portrush Ramore Head where someone had fallen off the cliff on to rocks below. The authorities carried out the rescue and the person transported to hospital. This is the second time, this year, someone has fallen off those cliffs, I've been up there many times in gales but safe. I thought the scale of the 'wee' helicopter in the big wide open sky showed the brilliant work these guys do.
