Weeping Cherry Tree

Description: This cherry tree was planted in my garden by my sisters in law and I as a memorial to my wife in April 2024. It's blossomed really well this year.

Early Spring in mountains

Description: Southern California is a strange place. In the LA area, blooms are almost over by this time, and some fruits have started to ripen! Yet up the mountain, about an hour or so away, Winter is just over, and unmelt snow still under the northern shadow areas! This Apricot tree was a mystery tree for me as I planted the seed, not knowing which, and it grew up well, yet every year, it gives the blooms most early, when the rest of the trees are in winter mood! So, a late snow and all the blooms die. So, no fruit for years till last year that same thing happened, yet one day, I found an apricot under the tree, fallen on the ground, indicating what the tree is when this fruit was totally hidden from us and the birds! And no, no neighbor around, so no one could have tricked! Well this year again the first tree to be awake and currently full of blooms...Hope the weather remains friendly, kind and warm! at least for a while!

Description: Last of the Cosmos flowers and insects for this season. There's been a dearth of Bees, Butterflies, & Hoverflies this year and even my Buddleia bushes have not done as well as previous years.

Field of Dead Trees

Description: We live in the woods and many of the trees around us are dead or dying. When I cut down one of the dead trees, the rings from the last 10 to 15 years are progressively thinner indicating that the tree was not growing as well as in previous years. I have no idea what is happening elsewhere, but it getting bad here. Be it Natural or Man-Made, It looks like our climate is changing!

Description: A solitary rose in my garden. I'm trying out my newly acquired Tamron 18-300 Fuji x fit lens which I intend to use as a general walkabout lens, having had a camera sort out (too many for specific uses!). So far I'm quite impressed.
