Description: Recently, I was working in my flower gardens and discovered this little guy sunning himself on one of my flower shrubs. He didn't seem to mind one bit that I was close by and actually stayed there the entire time while I went about my business.

Description: Remember the kitten photos I submitted when I first adopted my cats? Well, this is Tanner at 2 yrs. old. He reminds me of a miniature tiger with his long lean body--especially when he runs. He's a big suckie, very loveable. Talk about double trouble when he and his sister Mandy decide it's been too peaceful around the house.

Description: The bears have gotten quite accustomed to seeing the cars stopping and people observing them that they will immediately walk up to the fences--I suspect looking for treats that people do throw to them even though there are "DO NOT FEED THE BEARS" signs posted.

Description: Recently, my husband and I visited the Parc Omega North American Wildlife Reserve in Quebec, where I managed to get several photos of the black bears. This photo is my favorite. It suggests that this bear has just received a bouquet from an admirer and is savouring its sweet fragrance--even though they are only weeds. I'll be uploading more bear photos in my gallery in the next 24 hrs.

Description: Today we were experiencing some very unstable weather conditions ranging from sudden rain bursts to sunny breaks and lots of heavy cloud masses. I liked this particular mass and the effect the sun had on it, creating various shadows within it and making it very prominent against a stormy sky brewing in the North. Photo was taken in the subdivision where I live.

Home Town History in Black and White

Description: The Aultsville Train Station, constructed in 1856 for the Grand Trunk Railway Company,was moved from Aultsville and relocated in the late 1950's to its present location just outside Upper Canada Village east of Morrisburg in Eastern Ontario, Canada. Grand Trunk Locomotive 1008, built in 1910 and retired in 1957, stands on a section of the original Grand Trunk Railway track that was left in place when the area was flooded for the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway in the late 1950's. This photo was done in black and white format in camera. Only enhancements done on computer were cropping and light sharpening.

Description: This is a greeting card I designed using photos of my cats. Mandy and Tanner are now one year old. My tree survived thier attacks last Christmas; this Christmas I fear it won't. Mandy now wieghs 9 lbs. and Tanner wieghs 11.5 lbs. Oh well, Christmas is a fun time and no doubt my home will be filled with lots of it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

The Water Tower-Surviving Time

Description: This wooden railway water tower, built in the 1890's, is located at the Water Tower Park in Barry's Bay, Ontario. It is one of only 2 free-standing wooden railway water towers remaining in Ontario.

Description: I was out for an early morning hike at the local bird sanctuary where I live when I chanced upon this fawn. I was approx. 8 ft. away when I took this photo. Apparently, the fawn was not afraid and we observed each other for several minutes before it decided to rejoin Mom who was not far away.

Description: There is an abundance of young white tailed deer in our local bird sanctuary. They have become accustomed to seeing people in this area, as there are several hiking trails and camping areas. They show very little fear, allowing for some great photo opportunities.

Description: During a visit to our local bird sanctuary recently with my Mom and brother, we were greeted by three young raccoons. What a delightful photo opportunity for me. They kept following us around and I had to keep backing up in order to get some decent shots of them. I actually had one of them come and sit on my foot. We believe them to be motherless, but they seemed to be able to fend for themselves. It's encounters such as this that make my love of nature photography much more rewarding and fulfilling. Photo was enhanced using computer software, as picture was taken approx. at 8:30 p.m.

Description: This was a rare photo opportunity for me when my husband and I visited Parc Omega Wildlife Reservation in Quebec. We had spent several minutes observing the wolf pack and I noticed how this female wasn't moving from a hollow she was sitting in. It wasn't until we moved on that she got up and when I looked back, I noticed she was carrying something in her mouth. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I realized it was her pup. I'm assuming she was trying to find a safer place for it, as the young males were bothering her earlier.

Description: From early evening until sunset, it is quite common to see deer roaming through the yards of the residencies at Ault Island along the St. Lawrence River. The deer have become quite familiar with humans and show no signs of shyness; just curiousity.

Description: I was visiting with a friend one day last fall and was amazed when I looked out her kitchen window and saw this fawn in a field just back of her property. She said it has become quite common to see deer come out of the bushes from mid-afternoon on. Glad I had my camera with me.
