Snowy evening at Corbet Court

Description: Photo taken at 1000pm on a snowy evening in Market Drayton UK. Photo taken in the night light, largely from the orange light of sodium street lights. The light level was low. Exposure 1/60th second at f 1.4, iso 1600, lens Lumix Leica 25mm. This is a panorama of 5 portrait format frames. I have been trying for some time to capture the snowfall effect at night, I think I have got it here.

River Duckow Valley

Description: Market Drayton 15/01/2013 Went out on a photography jaunt this morning with my mate Derreck. Came across this lovely pastel coloured river vista. I was shooting with my Panasonic G5, fitted with a Lumix Leica 25mm f 1.4 lens. I havnt had this lens long, and this is only the fourth time I have used it. It is a panorama shot made from 2 frames. I am very pleased with it. Very cold, lots of ice, especially on the road, but all the recent snow has melted.

Description: I was in St Mary's churchyard on the 11th of the 11th when I heard the parade approaching. I guessed where they would turn, waited and got this shot. The reflection of the drummer looks like a ghost from the past.

Description: Taken on a cold rainy day. I have sold my Tamron 90 mm macro lens, and have been using an assortment of lenses with a 12 mm extension tube. This shot was with an old Canon 50 mm f 1.8, which combination wors well with the APS format.

Description: We took a hike, about 8 miles round trip from Barmouth to Fairbourne to find this lake. It is in the hills back of Fairbourne, in an old slate quarry. The blue in the picture is a good representation of the real colour of the lake.

Mawdach Estuary

Description: We took a trip from Shrewsbury to Barmouth by train recently to see some snow on the welsh hills. There wasnt much snow to see, but this image of the track and the old bridge across the Mawdach estuary, with a backdrop of Cadr Idris gives you some idea of the wonderful scenery. We wondered how long this bridge might continue standing, as many of the rivets on the bridge were rusted away.

Malham Cove

Description: This 80 to 100 meter cliff was shaped when the glaciers melted 15000 to 20000 years ago. If you look carefully you can see the climber in the bottom quarter, slightly left of center. The main picture is a vertical panorama of two images taken with a 15 mm lens setting. I "distorted" the photo to have less wide angle distortion.
