Cormorant toys with eel while gulls await any mistake

Description: I was waiting for the seaplane's arrival when I heard the commotion from the gulls . . .I saw the cormorant thrashing around an eel which it had caught - I assume it was trying to kill it before devouring it in one gulp before the gulls descended.

Description: during a visit to the new Orang Utan facility at Chester Zoo, a mother and baby nestled close to a viewing window (probably 40 feet above ground level) and presented an opportunity to see the bonding which is so instinctive in nature (yet humans sometimes forget). The reflections off the glass were a nightmare so, technically, not a great shot but the moment was special.

Description: A suggestion from Damnmage made me wonder about reflections in eyes . . .. personally, I like them since they add a depth beyond the two dimensions of the image but I took out the old CS3 and here is an alternative take on "Poppy" - -how does it compare to the original in your opinion?

Description: as siblings, they have always been inseparable - - - however, doesn't this image show the limitations of digital contrast ratio handling? I tried all kinds of jiggery-pokery to restore the levels but nothing would retain anything close to the true colours of the cats. . . . .compromise a go-go :-)

Description: This little chappie/chapess is still convinced that he can scare away his own reflection as he sits no more then an inch away from the patio door. The pair are ever-present in the garden and on the feeders so we are hopeful of seeing a larger family of long-tailed tits soon.

Description: I heard a tapping on the window . . ..got the camera . ..eased the curtains open and this rascal was hovering and tapping on the glass. . ..fired a few shots off and this is probably the best of the bunch . . . .so small and 'flitty' in it's movement made it difficult to capture

Description: This is the side of one of the old hangars at the disused airbase at Burtonwood. If you drive along the M62 you are actually following the track of the old main runway with the remaining hangars clearly visible to the north side of the motorway. Why someone has decided to daub "PIES" in letters that must be 30 feet high, is beyond me though. Answers on a postcard, please :-)
