Description: Street scene on a sunny morning in Chitpur area in Kolkata, India. You get to see two icons of the city - a hand-pulled rickshaw [yes - still exists at parts] and the tramcar swooshing past. Shot on FUji Arcos.. exposure approximately 1 sec.

Description: Restoring the Humayun's Tomb [a World heritage site] painstakingly using the same tools as employed by artisans centuries back. Modern day counterparts of those tools do not quite give the finesse needed is what the chief artisan [man with his back to the picture ] states. He's on site with the team for the last 15 years! And, this is a 8 second 6X6 pinhole capture on Fuji Provia 100.

Never-Ending Construction

Description: Shot with a pinhole camera - scanned the 6X6 frame with a 35 mm flatbed scanner via a self-devised hack :-) The location is near my house - never-ending construction work throughout the year brought forward by the seemingly infinite curve of the elevated railway track..

Description: Portion of the Vishnu temple which was partially demolished when the Qutub Minar was constructed - this was the main entrance to the temple complex - the lotus engraving at the roof and many of the pillars bear testimony to the fact what the place was before the Turks invaded circa 1200 AD.

Description: Come summer and you see the vendors flooding the streets, beaches of India with their offering of thirst quenchers.. Don't be too picky about the hygiene conditions - they can be as harmful as the branded colas are - but much more refreshing ;-) Had 3 rounds of the vendor's offering as I was trying various compositions under the scorching midday sun..

Description: Worshipers celebrate the Durga Puja festival [the biggest festival of the Bengalis all over the world] with dance competitions in front of the idol. Special earthen pots are filled up with dried coconut shell / fibre and other scented incense lit up and the dancers used these to dance amidst rhythmic beating of drums
