Brown headed Barbet

Description: The brown-headed barbet is a resident breeder in the Indian subcontinent, widespread in India and also seen in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. It is an arboreal species of gardens and wooded country which eats fruit and insects. Nonetheless, it is fairly tolerant of humans and is often seen in cities, in greenery. It nests in a tree hole, laying 2-4 eggs. The bird is largely frugivorous on mangos, ripe jack, papaya, banana, figs and similar cultivated fruit trees. Its habitat includes urban and country gardens though it tends to eschew heavy forest. It nests in a suitable hole in a tree that it will often excavate out, not unlike a woodpecker. A pair will take it in turns to incubate the eggs and they often communicate with each other using their Kura, kura calls.

Wood Shrike

Description: The common woodshrike is dully ashy brown and like other woodshrikes has a large head with a strong hooked beak. They have a broad creamy brow above a dark cheek patch and white outer tail feathers contrasting with their dark tail. Young birds have streaks and spot on the crown and white spots on the mantle. The underside is also streaked and the breast is heavily marked in young birds.

Description: We were enjoying beautiful sunset at matheran suddenly this monkey came and snatched the water bottle from my hand before I could blink it had ran away with the bottle. Firstly I was angry at what happened than What I saw melted my heart. Monkey snatched the bottle only to quench his thirst. At that moment I realised sometimes we take things for granted like drinking water only to realise how precious it is for those who don't have it. People today jave forgotten they're really just a part of nature. Yet, they destroy the nature on which our lives depend. The most important things for all living beings are clean air and water. So be content with whatever you have and cherish it because life is precious. So enjoyy this beautiful moment of life captured through my lens..
