Preparations for the Golf

Description: Preparations are well on the way for the 153rd Golf Championship. Roads are being closed and re-surfaced, the town is full of builders, working of many properties and other places are being painted. It's great to watch it all going on.

Description: Prolonged and arduous take off both running and flapping wings over a considerable distance. Another grab shot after hearing three swans making a racket, managed to get this one full frame having missed the first two.

Grey Heron Flypast.

Londonderry Rail Line

Description: This was taken with a very old Nikon P4400 camera, which I used to use all the time back about 1999, I came across it and put batteries in it and it's still working. I read somewhere there is a cult following of this camera, not sure if that is correct.

Early Spring in mountains

Description: Southern California is a strange place. In the LA area, blooms are almost over by this time, and some fruits have started to ripen! Yet up the mountain, about an hour or so away, Winter is just over, and unmelt snow still under the northern shadow areas! This Apricot tree was a mystery tree for me as I planted the seed, not knowing which, and it grew up well, yet every year, it gives the blooms most early, when the rest of the trees are in winter mood! So, a late snow and all the blooms die. So, no fruit for years till last year that same thing happened, yet one day, I found an apricot under the tree, fallen on the ground, indicating what the tree is when this fruit was totally hidden from us and the birds! And no, no neighbor around, so no one could have tricked! Well this year again the first tree to be awake and currently full of blooms...Hope the weather remains friendly, kind and warm! at least for a while!

Description: I was looking elsewhere with a teleconverter on my lens giving me 1000mm equivelent focal length when a sudden close honking made me turn round and instinctively point and shoot. Amazingly amongst the many shots with bits of the bird missing I got a couple of frame filling shots with all the bird in the frame.
