Eclipse!

Description: Mother nature did not cooperate during the eclipse today, where I live in eastern Pennsylvania. Clouds rolled in when the sun was about 1/4 covered. So, after waiting for a long time for a clearing, I slowed the shutter to 1.3 seconds and made this image through the cloud layer.

Description: On Sat pm my not too far away neighbour (Finance Director of Iceland Frozen Foods) had a massive party, presumably for a birthday, at his house. Us peasants never got an invite so at 10.20pm I was standing on my front path taking photos with a little compact camera I'd only bought the day before. Ended up with about 60 pics. Who knows what the fireworks cost but they went on for a good 30 mins.

Description: Last Wednesday ( last month) I was taken ill, phoned 111 and 7 mins later was in an ambulance with blues and twos going at high speed to an A&E at a large hospital some 20 miles away. I don't remember much for the next 3 days as I was in critical care, it transpired I had 2 blood transfusions and 60 litres of saline through me. I had lost 3 pints for blood internally and when I came to in a single room was feeling a bit sorry for my self. I got. home late last night, so now lots of images to look at on site having done my mail Etc. Like I said once before "if I can't take my camera I aint going " is you are stuck with me...... sorry

Description: Can any anglers on here identify what this gull has picked out of the water? It seems to have two thin streamer like extremities. Apologies for the crap quality but these were just grab shots, heavily cropped and resized for upload.

Description: Had a day in Chester with a fellow photographer, using old digital cameras from our collections.These are taken with my Nikon Coolpix 2000 dating from 2002. It has a 2MP sensor with 64MB (not GB) card on which I got 67 images, file sizes less that 1MB. An experience to use! See:https://www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/compacts/nikon_cp2000 for more info.

Description: This was a realy big drone flying over the beach at Sizewell where the nuclear power stations are and the new one is to be built. I wondered if it was doing some sort of surveying with those unusual cameras/sensors on the front?

Description: Day one of my bathroom replacement. 8 30 in the morning he came in and started rippng off the walls, took out the bath ,sink lights etc, just leaving me a loo in a pile of rubble and dust.(that's been replaced now too) Since then I have had electricians, plasterers, plumbers, floor layers, and downstairs window fitters and front door fitters. I now need someone to clear the dust that got every where. Must say though they did a very god job. just waiting for the stair lift guy now then I can get some pleace.

Description: Back in the (film ) day over 50 years ago we had extension tubes and I think it was Tamron or Sigma did magnifying screw on filters. I had a "thing" for getting up close and recall this was taken using an extension tube AND a magnifying filter. It is just one of my Mum's sewing needles, but this close you can see all the details in the cutting out of the eye. Funny the things you keep in your archives.

Description: Dr Martin O'Kane is the author of a book called Dee the Little Lifeboat and the book is illustrated by Alice Rohdich, an artist. The building is a Yacht Club and their gable end has been painted with characters from the book. When I was taking this shot - actor James Nesbitt passed by and we had a chat about the painting but I wasn't brave enough to ask if I could take his photograph!!!

Description: We were returning home today and spotted these Mammatus clouds overhead. First time I've ever seen them, so grabbed the phone to get the shot. They dumped a load of rain on the town!! Last night there was a massive Aurora but we had clouds, so couldn't get photographs. I think, these Mammatus clouds were trying to make up for no Aurora!!!!
