Description: Standing like 'Everest' amongst the surrounding hills, this is surely one of the most beautiful fells in the Lake District. The path along the base is the classic Wainright walk up Haystacks, which we completed.

Description: The D3 rocks!! Taken at today's Anderton meet. :) Impossible to lock on and keep focus with these birds, but I did get the odd single shot. Not enough focal length on my 70-200mm, but it proves just how good the D3 is.

Description: One of the things I love about photography is that you are always learning. My keep rate yesterday was about 1% and I was most unhappy. Today I changed things and for the first time trusted the dynamic autofocus of the D300 - the results were stunning, a 80% keep rate. I'll post a few more images and let you make up your own minds, but isn't this bird photography easy? ;)

Description: Middle of our Scottish trip, we visited the Kite's. Full respect to you guys (and gals!) who take these type of pictures - it took me an awful lot of goes to get this one. Mind you a 70-200mm lens was probably 300mm too short!!

Extreme Climbing

Description: As a few climbing pics have been posted, I thought I'd throw one in. This was one of the first extreme climbs I did over 20 years ago and is still considered a modern test piece, rated at E5 nowadays. This lad was smooth as silk and I got a whole sequence of him on the climb.

Description: This was just a snapshot of my wife Caroline, the day after coming home from hospital. Shot again at ISO 3200 in available light. Although it looks bright, it was a dull grey day and the light was poor (infact the house lights are on).

Description: I went down to our local woods in search of squiggles, no luck. :-( This image was shot on my new D300 at ISO 3200, using a 70-200mm f2.8 and 1.7 TC. Judge for yourself how good the detail and lack of noise is.
