Description: McDonnell Douglas Boeing F15E Strike Eagle 96-0204 F-15E-58-MC 1341/E214 492nd FS, 48th FW RAF Lakenheath, turning towards Corris at Tal-Y-Llyn, Wales, LFA7. First time up a big hill for several months, the aching legs, cold, wet and misery gets quickly forgotten when the USAF turn up.

Description: Another very cold night photographing F15Es at RAF Lakenheath, this one had problems and had to be towed off to maintainance, a fortunate break from my point of view as I had the time to get properly set up for the shot! Night shot with a 600mm lens, I used two tripods one on the lens and one on the camera body, for stability. I was shooting through a fence, camera real close to totally diffuse the wire, from outside the base.

Individual cup loose tea infuser, an 18th century device that got popular in the 19th century and every home had one by the time Victoria came to the throne.. Held within is Whittards loose Breakfast Earl Grey tea; it knocks the spots off teabags. Canon EOS1DsMkII 100mm f2.8 macro with canon ringflash. 1.6 seconds at f8, ISO 100.

Description: Cader Idris minimalism 4 colours & 3 lines, Wales UK. Easy to do, use the same image as a positive and also a negative layer, set the upper layer opacity to 50% and select the 'multiply' blending mode, move the upper layer a few pixels out of register, flatten the layers and select hue and saturation to suit the eye!

RAF Cottesmore in Rutland is home to several of them so I spent a day (luckily it was busy as I've had some very unproductive time there before) photographing these wonderful machines doing their thing! Description: An F15E blasts off into the night at RAF Lakenheath, a shot taken a couple of years ago. I deliberately underexposed by two stops as well as shooting at highr ISO than I prefered. This really is testament to why I shoot RAW because at the time I could not pull the shot out of the file in the way that I saw it. However; newer software i.e. "Color efex pro", and better noise control software as well as my own improvement in using it all has finally meant that I can produce an image that looks something like what I remember seeing!

Several exposures hand blended together in CS3, the receivers were painted with light using a 1/2 Million Candlepower lamp and had to be a separate shorter exposure because they are tracking deep-space objects they blur over a long shutter opening, the orange glow is light pollution from the Cambridge street lights etc.
