Description: 1225 is coal fired and was fully steamed up, which means a nice shower of coal ash was wafting down. This was taken at 'The North Pole', the terminus of the North Pole Express holiday excursion, what doesn't show is that it was a very cold winter, the temp was well below zero C.

Description: Here in the US there is a Christmas themed book and Disney movie called 'The Polar Express'. The locomotive featured in it is real and here it is. For those interested, it's called a Berkshire and the type was the first of the Superpowers. Hard to tell scale, but it's over 100 feet long, all up weight, including the tender is about 800,000 lbs.
