Not an enlargement or macro image.
In fact this is good size item.

But then Graham you are right to say that this is a pointy, Conical subject, similar to a pencil tip. But a lot larger and no way as sharp.

no idea! looks like a fried egg, but I know that is not right!

Larger than that.
A lot softer.
Not hot.
Conical and not flat.

But then the greatest hint is that if you look at recent gallery pages, incidentally another good photographer has place an exact similar object in his image that is recently uploaded!!!
The one in that image is identical in appearance to this.
