Duncan, I can do everything you suggest - items 1-10
I can see the images ready for upload, with a tick next to them. I untick all (3 of them) and retick one and I get the error message I have shown. I can untick them al and try to process but this says no image to process.

I am sorry to be so unhelpful (believe it or not but I am an IT consultant) but everything seems so self-obvious and yet I am still having problems.

I still contend that the server must be keeping a record (or the actual images) of the first one that I tried to load that was too big and that is causing ongoing problems.

John,

I'm afraid I don't know how to remove files stuck on the server. If you had a picture in your gallery then I have the moderator option to "Delete all pictures in this usre's gallery", which would presumably fix it. As your gallery appears to me as empty, I can't delete anything.

Time to get Andy/Steve/Ollie (Admin) involved I think. I'll send a PM.

Duncan

John, have you tried clearing your cache, sometimes this works.

John Hallas 07-12-07 14:21

Christine, I effectively did that by using the works computer today whereas I used the home one yesterday. I will try again now though

I am sure my photos are eagerly awaited after all this build up

Andy 07-12-07 17:26

I've used the 'delete all users photos', just on the off-chance that may clear the image cache. Actually logging off may have an effect as that's not the same to the software as simply logging-on on another pc.

I have a feeling the gallery image cache clears itself after a day or two... so it may be worth being patient.

If still no joy, then I'll have to get Ollie to have a look at the main database.

The system is pretty robust and often has to deal with members accidentally uploading massive images, with no ill effects.
cheers,
Andy

Thanks Andy and everyone else. Logging out did not help. I still get the following error

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/jpegtran) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/wpf/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /gallery/image-inc.php on line 455

John, I have just had a thought, occasionally I get the same error but it continues to load the photo with no problem, do you stop at that point or do you still carry on loading.

I have just looked and its not the same error.

If all else fails you can always rejoin the forum as johnybike2 and start again! ;)

John Hallas 07-12-07 20:43

No luck Christine, I have no option to continue.

I might rejoin as something else. After watching LOTR 2 the other night I thought Gandalf's horse might make a good forum name - Shadowfax

Andy 07-12-07 21:26

Hi,
Please do not rejoin and start another account at the moment. I have contact our techy and hopefully he will resolve the problem in the next 24hours.
cheers,
Andy
