I have run the old 40Dshuttercount from Astrojargon and it works fine on the 40D, EOSinfo is an updated version of this, there is nothing on the web site that says it will only run on 32 bit machines.

BTW this will only work on the 40D 50D 450D and 1000D (it looks like Canon has removed the facility for checking the shutter count on the 500D).

I've just noticed that I posted the wrong "Link" earlier, I obviously meant to post the same link as you.

The problem with not working on 64 bit machines is I think due to Canon not supplying suitable camera drivers for 64 bit.

This is very annoying as you cannot control the cameras via the PC so "tethered shooting" is out of the question.

That's a shame Harry, I can understand your frustrations if you cannot control via a PC.
