Two things to think about there.
1) Possible shutter replacement. Check with Mark what that would cost.
2) Check the lens mounting flange. I have seen some ex pro kit that have had heavy long lenses hanging from them over an extended period, and the lens flange is just plain worn out. Once again check pricing for possible replacement with Mark.

Just a thought Jim, to clarify my comment no2.
Pro sports/event photogs hang this sort of kit from their cameras. Yeah well beyond what either of us will use, but check out the weights in the specs to see the strain over time that can be applied to the body mount.

Without question, the Nikon F5 is one of the best conceived, well built professional quality autofocus 35mm SLR cameras I have come across.

Thanks everyone... as I will be using my next film camera a lot (daily) the F 5 is definately the one I will be going for... really appreciate all your help! Jim
