congrats Graham , knock on wood ! You are very clever ;)

Thanks Mo and thanks PostcardCV. I shall put the next one up tomorrow. Now back home after a little time away, time to do a few things I enjoy.
|
Good job Graham.
Though it looks very well clear now that puzzle is solved, specially that round appearance of phosphorus compound of match stick tip but must admit, I have not seen one of these in past several decades! and probably wouldn't guess it even after a thousand tries. Guess now a days, fire is always there where it should be, or lighters do the job. Well done and lets see what you have to show. |
well done Graham, so easy to see now you said that. lol

What is it

This one seems easy to me, but those at home here were puzzled.

A boars tusk.

I was going to say Hog's tooth !
|
That was too easy!

Well, you're all correct in a way! The absolute exact answer would have been a ram's horn but that's down to local breeds. Then the baton passes to Sassan as he was first past the post.

Alright. I know if I name the animal, I am not going to win and in fact I was thinking of bison or cow horn.
Well here goes the next puzzle picture and it could be one easy one. |
Is it a moon crater?
|
I think I should check my eyes , feel I need special glass to find it out ! LOL :D

another macro from me...

Strings of a rug ?
|
Wow. That is magnified.
Hard to say what exactly but the texture appearance is that of a fabricated material made up of plastic or similar synthetic material. Back of carpet, mouse pad or a similar object is in my mind for now. But then the longitudinal straight texture of material is strange and I am sure should be the link to the origin of this. |
A brush. Carpet cleaner?
|
some good ideas, but no one has it yet.
|
is it something inside of a hard drive that need a good clean?

The new puzzle goes with a story: As a kid, I learned from my very wise Grandfather that if I eat and like the taste of a fruit, I may as well plant its seed somewhere in a corner of garden! Well that is what exactly I did some 15 years back in garden of my home, with a fruit that actually I happened to hand pick it from a tree near work. The Old man (RIP) was right and here is the fruits of the tree in this story, with picture being only a minute or two fresh, just taken and out of camera, even though this is not even Spring yet by local season (Actually we are some 10 days to the first day of Spring 2016, and I must know this because any Persian-origin person must know about the first day of spring that is the biggest cultural celebration day of year; "Id Nowruz", also know as Astronomical Vernal Equinox, when day and night are exactly equal and a tree has the shortest of its shadow, throughout the year! something that old Persians learned some 5-6 thousand years back, in fact the first people to have a correct and fixed solar calendar, by knowing exact difference between occurrence of this date and incorporated corrections in the each year calendar, every year, down to the seconds!... This makes each month 30-31 days calendar except one tricky one month, thus seasons would be same throughout the centuries, on each called day of season, unlike lunar or otherwise widely accepted calendars of those time). Anyhow, back to our puzzle and here obviously the question is on a fruit and answer "Fruit" is not acceptable. You need to call the correct name of this fruit and with many people here expert in the field of agriculture, I assume this should not be a difficult puzzle, but we shall see. So the hint is the tree has fruits ready even before spring in temperate climates such a southern California. Lets see who can nail this one. |
I have them growing in my yard, my plant came from my brothers place, he has since passed away,so I have it growing in memory of him
we call them " Loquat " here scientific name... Eriobotrya japonica |
I have not seen it here , think Trena wins ! ;)

Interesting Trena, I have another one in garden in memory of a lost one. Its amazing how easy is to grow this tree and then it gives me twice a year, boxes of fruit per tree. My Argentinean family friends always receive a box per season, as they like this fruit very much but Americans are not really aware that is edible! Well I am not going to spread the bad words:) Game is on you Trena. |
ok,try this one

thanks Sassan, I don't get much fruit from mine, the fruit bats usually get to them before I do.

|
bread dough?
.or potato ? no to both, another clue is it was in my gallery a long time ago. |
My first reaction was Micro capillaries under skin as one may see with cellulite.
But that is ruled out. Next would be a French baguette. Now if not truly French that is not my problem, world is getting smaller by seconds!! |
no Sassan, try fruit
|
Maybe a pear
|
After going through 11 pages of 90 images each, Saw the answer but can't complain, in fact did enjoy very much by going through the archive and gallery images of Trena. After the the tree story, seeing your nice tribute to your brother (RIP) was indeed nice.
I guess every now and and then, it worth to go through others archives. PCcv seems you are the winner. |
