Christine

June is just around the corner are you all setup and ready for the big day ?

Rob hi, that is why I have been fairly quiet on here, still lots to do. The marquee has been erected ready just the rest to do. I am getting more confident in taking the photo's, if the light is reasonable I may not use flash at all indoors, just up the ISO, they will be mostly full length shots or very close shots so they should be fine. The grooms brothers will also be taking photo's so I will have plenty of backups on film. This is the time when I wish I never sold all my photographic gear years ago, I had everything possible for wedding photography, things are slowly coming back just hope I can still get the effects I want with digital.

Well the day has been and gone without a hitch, (Relief) The photo's have turned out extremely well. All shots in the room where the wedding was taking place I didn't use flash at all so no harshness. I was only 6 ft away from the bride and groom so my 18-55 lens was excellent. Out of 300 photo's 4 of each pose I only had 4 to trash as being out of focus or shake. The only time I used the tripod was for the formal shots of the groups and I managed to include myself on these by setting timer and running. LOL!
I have included a sample of the bride and groom in the room set at 21mm, 1/160s, 400 ISO, f3.5 Hand held with no flash, the groom is into black and white so waiting for him to tell me which to convert but here is one of them I do know about.

Hello Christine,

Pleased that everything went well for you; it must be a great relief. All you have to do now is sift through 300 pictures and decide what to do with them. Well done for managing to combine jobs of photographer along with 'mother of the bride' tasks. I don't envy you for the stress you put yourself through.
