Canon Digital Rebel XTi
The new Canon Digital Rebel XTi (and whatever name it will be called here in the UK) announced today looks quite interesting, especially the price, features and it's effect on the price of the current model.
See Steve's Digicams story here :- http://www.steves-digicams.com/pr/ca...belxti_pr.html Roger Added note :- According to the following Canon announcement this will be the 400D in the UK :- http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eosdigital3/index.html |
Will be interesting to see if the 10.1mp sensor produces as little noise as the current 8mp one.

Typical I received my new 30D today and they bring out another rebel. Should I have waited NAH!. There is always a new one arounfd the corner.
|
has the 400D been released now then and does anyone know of sellers or likely price?
|
WarehouseExpress say end of Sept - £650 body only
My 20D will do me until the 30D replacement drops in price. Barring any accidents  |

Harry Edited I see Jessops will be pricing it a £650, body only |
RRP is £650 but will soon drop from that on internet sites.

Isn't the RRP of the 30D over £1000 and yet it is readily available at £750? So I presume the 400D price will indeed plummet like a, well, a Canon camera price.
It'll be interesting to see the relative sales of the 400D, D80 and A100. Leif |
It is hard to improve a perfect model. As a user of both XT and 30D, my hand and neck feels a lot more ease with XT. Only if Canon could make a L quality lens similar to Tamron's 28-300mm that is extremely small and very light, then a lot of professionals with need to traveling light in view of assignment, would have a simple choice.
I hope Canon has not forgotten to add optional GPS compatibility and surely the spot metering. |
